One of the important aspects to think of when choosing a printer or buying a replacement cartridge, is how much ink or toner that cartridge actually contains. The amount of ink or toner in a cartridge is usually called cartridge yield or page yield. In the printer and ink industry 5% of ink on the page is the standard measurement used to determine how many pages an ink or toner cartridge should print. For the purpose of the cartridge yield measure, almost all printer manufacturers base their black ink/toner cartridge yields on 5% coverage. 5% coverage implies basic type with no bold characters, no graphics and no pictures.
The 5% figure allows you to compare page yields between manufacturers. Before this standard, you couldn't compare the yield of an Epson V.S. a HP cartridge as they were calculated differently. Now they're the same and you can compare.
Please see attached document for a demonstration of a page with 5% coverage of ink. If you are printing a full page of regular documents, you will be seeing a 30-40% coverage on 1 page, therefore, you will print less pages than the indicated page yield of the ink/toner.Our new compatible ink or toner cartridges will offer you a very close printing quality when compared to the OEM version. Moreover, it will also print at least the same amount of pages as its OEM counterparts. For more information on the page yield of a particular ink/toner, please refer to our site at www.123ink.ca or contact our customer service team at 1-866-979-7463.
